YACHTMASTER TRAINEESHIP UK
Global Yacht Training's UK Yachtmaster Traineeship is offered in response to requests from our clients to provide a traineeship based here in the UK. This Traineeship takes place from our base here in Cowes on the Isle of Wight as well as covering areas of the Solent, the English Channel, the Western Approaches and as far afield as The North Sea and Irish Sea. The traineeship features RYA skills training leading to Yachtmaster, race training and competition at international level in offshore races and inshore regattas, hands on work experience and yacht maintenance.
Ideally candidates will have pre course sailing experience and a few miles under their belt however, no previous experience is required as this traineeship starts from the basics.
This unique training programme offers a fantastic opportunity to train and race with some of the race charter industries leading race skippers. Gain fantastic RYA Yachtmaster coaching from our team of highly experienced instructors and work as part of the Global Yacht Racing team, gain an incite into working in the yachting industry, build a great C.V and network with crew and sailors from race yachts based in the UK.

YACHTMASTER SKIPPER TRAINEESHIP INFORMATION
The GYT Professional Yachtmaster Programme takes skipper training to a new level. This programme really does offer potential skippers a great start and insight into the marine world.
During the programme you will experience yacht racing and working with sailing professionals in the race charter industry over a six month period. You will be involved in maintaining and preparing our fleet of yacht’s for the busy racing season and will work alongside GYR skippers and staff dealing with our clients and crewing during the races and regattas we enter.
Alongside this you will gain superb RYA training both practical and theoretical, skipper yachts around the Solent and English Channel and visit a variety of marinas on your travels.
Culminating on the two week Yachtmaster prep course and RYA exam and potentially leading on to employment in the marine sector with industry experience under your belt.
