The Yachts

What yachts will I be sailing on?

  •
Beneteau First 47.7 ‘EH01’ – Royal Ocean Racing Club Offshore Racing
  • Will I be sailing more than one yacht?
    • You will sail on a variety of yachts including a Beneteau First 47.7 and a First 40.
  • Are the yachts Coded?
    • All the yachts are commercially operated, MCA Coded and professionally maintained.
  • What will my onboard accommodation include?
    • All the yachts have comfortable interiors with shared areas suitable for offshore and inshore racing.
    • The central saloon area includes a galley kitchen comprising a fridge/cool box, sink and double gas hob with a large dinning table.
    • The bunks are arranged as double cabins to the rear of the saloon area with further double cabins to the front of the boat. These double cabins can be transformed into single berths when lee-cloths are raised between the bed cushions. In some cases the berths are arranged as bunk beds – these are adult sized. Most cabins have doors for privacy.
    • Hot-bunking -During offshore racing we operate a ‘hot-bunking’ system. This means that you will sleep in different bunks, depending on the heel of the yacht, to optimise racing performance and also to insure the most comfortable sleeping position. The same bunks may be shared by successive watches.
    • The ‘heads’ or toilets are similar to those found in a motorhome and can be used whilst at sea but when we are berthed in a marina you will be required to use the on-shore marina shower and toilet facilities.
