Global Yacht Training, part of Global Yacht Racing, offers you the chance to obtain build your miles by joining us for passages between yacht race events.
We have passages from the UK, in the Mediterranean and also the Caribbean.
The ultimate mile builder is our transatlantic event.

What to expect
Our mile builder passages varying in length and can be anything from a couple of days to a number of weeks. Some even allow for inter-island cruises!
Our mile building passages include:
- Passage planning
- Victualling & on board living
- Power management on board
- Watch systems
- Meteorology at Sea
- Satellite Navigation
- Communications whilst at sea
- Procedures including clearing Customs on arrival at a Foreign port
Whether you are looking to build you miles, undertake an ocean qualifying passage or to take part in an offshore race events, such as the RORC Transatlantic or ARC, we can offer a milebuilder to suit your requirements.
Crew fees

Our milebuilders takes our yachts into the Mediterranean for the race season. Additional legs are available from St Tropez to Malta, ahead of the Middle Sea Race, from Malta back to Gibraltar and then finally from Gibraltar out to The Canaries; ahead off the RORC or ARC transatlantic crossing. On passage you will gain sea miles and passage experience as well as improve your watch-keeping skills.

Pre-requisties:
- No previous sailing experience required as these are a chance to build your miles up!
